In this St. Patrick's Day poetry teatime resource I have included historical information, recipes, hymns, poetry, stories, art, and scripture study. The recipes, poems and hymns are written out and links are provided for videos and additional activities and information. There are some excerpts from my original teatime book A Homemade Family Tea Time, along with plenty of new themed material. St. Patrick was very influential in bringing the Gospel to the people of Ireland. Although steeped in legend, the story of St. Patrick is fascinating. The hymn, Be Thou My Vision comes from a poem written by St. Patrick. Also included for its historical and literary value is another poem attributed to St. Patrick called St. Patrick’s Breastplate. I’ve also included poems and songs just for fun. There is much that can be gleaned from learning about the life of St. Patrick and exploring Irish culture.

Take your tea time outside! Go to a park, bird sanctuary, or your own backyard.  Print out the poetry and hymn lyrics. If enjoying your tea time in the backyard, hang out your bird feeder a few days before to get the birds used to it. Make your tea and take in an insulated tumbler. Make your snack ahead and pack it up along with your art supplies. Either take physical books to read or watch the story videos on your phone.
