BIBLE EXPLORERS GOSPELS LESSON 23
This is lesson 23 in our journey through the Gospels chronologically. This will likely take 3 years to complete, teaching weekly through the school year. The material is geared for elementary age kids. Each lesson will have a list of Scripture references, materials, introduction, object lessons, and hands on activities. Most lessons can be completed in 1- 1.5 hours. A few may need more than one class time. New lessons will be posted weekly. The posts will not have pictures because I will not be posting pictures of other people’s children. At the end of each school year, a printed version of the curriculum will be made available for purchase. This will include an appendix with printouts, game pieces, and other classroom helps.

Activities
Hands on Activity 1: Character Sketch
Purpose- to gauge where the children are in their understanding of demons
1. Have the kids describe what they think demons look like.
2. Ask the kids to tell you facts about demons and write them on the board. (even if they are wrong)
3. Instruct the kids not to copy your facts until the end of class.
Hands on Activity 2: Scripture hunt
Purpose- to see what the Bible says about angels and how it compares to their previous thoughts.
1. Have the kids look up and read verses about demons. To save time, mark the verses in Bibles before class. The point is for the kids to read it directly from the Bible.

1 John 4:4- why we don’t need to fear Satan/demons and possession as believers- more on possession in the next lesson
Our interactions- 1 Corinthians 10:20-21- stay away from
1 John 4:1-3- discernment, not listening to
End- Revelation 20:1-10, restricted now/ future defeat- not in Hell yet.
2. Take turns reading the verses and adjusting the information on the board to line up with scripture. Keep it simple so the kids can copy it later.
Hands on Activity 3. Demonic Facts
To make page of true facts and solidify the information.
1. Have the kids draw what they think demons look like now that they have read the verses.
2. Have the kids copy the information from the board onto new sheet of paper, writing the facts as labels and descriptions.
3. Discuss the facts about demons and what our interactions should be. Stay away from, don’t worship or listen to, fear vs. discernment etc.
